HKD Diamond Laboratories opened its first of three laboratories in 1994 in the heart of the main trading center of gemstone, diamonds and jewellery in Toronto, Canada. The principal owners are Hemdeep Patel, Graduate Gemologist (GIA), B.Sc. in Astronomy and Physic and Kamal Patel, Graduate Gemologist (GIA), B.A. (Honours). Aside from their formal gemological education from GIA, they are the third generation in the gem and diamond business. They are also members of the GIA Alumni, Associate Member of the Canadian Jewellers Institute, Canadian Jewellers Association and Canada Diamond Code of Conduct. HKD Toronto has been providing full gemological services for Canadian marketplace. The services provided are aimed for a wide range of customers: end user consumers, jewellery manufacturers, jewellery chain stores, and diamond and gemstone traders.
